Impact of Sinigang on my mora values

Sinigang by Marie Aubrey J. Villaceran establishes a good moral values as an example to our youth. This story delivers a great impact to me as a senior high learner and I wish to share this to everyone so they can also gain something valuable from this story.

Forgiving

During the funeral, Liza encountered a woman named Sylvia who went to approach her and kneeled to apologize. Liza was shocked and was not sure how to respond to this. After Sylvia had her weeping subsided, She told Liza “Everyones makes mistakes” implying something very bad had happened. Reading this part had made me reminisce moments where I made mistake to people. It didn't take long before I start feeling guilty. And after the guilt it made me remember of all the people who brought bad things to me and I realized that I should forgive them. Bearing hatred will only hurt and tear you apart. You need to learn how to move on.

Family

A dialogue from Liza stating how her father often favors her half brother alot, seemingly almost forgetting her and even calling her “Sinverguenza” which derives for Shameless daughter. This lead her having a gap between her and her own father. In our family, it is important that we are mindful of how we treat our family. There are times where we ended up hurting them without realizing it. In Liza’s’s case, her father was more attentive to his half brother than her and her sisters. We should learn to love each member of our family equally.
